POV: I didn’t know what I wanted… so I tried it 😅

I tried so hard to be the “let’s go somewhere lowkey” friend. You know… the one who avoids the viral spots with the legendary wait times. But every single time I opened my phone, there it was again: Toast on Lenox. Clip after clip. Plate after plate. People acting like they got baptized in brunch. 😭

So I did what any curious, hungry person in Atlanta would do… I went by mistake ON PURPOSE. And yes, I already knew the risk: the wait.

It’s loud in a good way, lively, and very “we outside.” People are dressed cute. People are taking pics. People are ordering drinks and doing that little “cheers” moment like they’re in a montage. It’s definitely a celebration brunch spot, even if you’re just celebrating that you made it through the week.

I’ve seen people go for birthdays, and I get it. It gives “ATL birthday brunch” without you having to force it.

This plate is for the people who want comfort food that actually comforts you. The fried catfish had that crispy outside that makes a little noise when you bite it (you know the one), and the inside stayed tender. The grits were smooth and rich, and the collard greens brought that savory balance that makes the whole plate feel complete.

Steak, egg & potato bowl 🥔

This one is for the “I need something filling” crowd. It’s hearty, it’s warm, it’s the kind of bowl that makes you sit back after a few bites like… “okay yeah, this is serious.” The steak + egg combo is already a win, but the potatoes make it feel like a full-on breakfast situation, not just a cute brunch nibble.

I kept it simple with orange juice, but I’m not gonna lie… the drinks around me were looking real photogenic. 😅 I’ve had those moments where you take a sip of something fruity and you’re like, “Wait… is this a mocktail or am I about to start dancing?” Either way, the brunch drink energy here is strong, so if you’re into that part of the experience, you’ll be entertained.

The sides that stole the show: Brussels sprouts + mac 😭🔥

Okay, listen. I did not expect to be talking about Brussels sprouts like they’re the star of the movie… but they were. I tore them to pieces. They had that perfect balance where they feel like a “side,” but you’re treating them like the main event.

And the mac… the cheese pull was actually insane. Like every scoop was giving stretchy, melty, “why is this so good?” energy. I’m not even trying to be dramatic, but it was one of those bites where you start looking around like… “is everybody else experiencing this too?” 😂

The reason it’s not a perfect score for me is simple: the wait can be intense, and you have to plan for it. If you come expecting a quick in-and-out brunch, you might be irritated before you even taste anything.

But if you go in with the right mindset—like “this is an ATL brunch moment, let me enjoy it”—you’ll probably leave happy and full.

Tips I wish someone told me before I went 📝

1) Try to make reservations. If you can lock in a time, do it. Waiting is the only part that can really throw the mood off.

2) Don’t show up starving. I’m not saying eat a full meal first, but maybe don’t pull up on your last breath. The line can be long, and you don’t want to be fighting for your life in public. 😅

3) Go with people who match your energy. This is a fun spot. Bring someone who likes taking pics, trying bites, sharing plates, and enjoying the moment.

4) Order at least one “fun” item. Even if you’re a savory-only person, consider adding something sweet or a side that’s a little extra. Toast on Lenox is built for that “let me treat myself” style of brunch.

Would I go back? Absolutely 😌

I’d go back for the Brussels sprouts alone (and yes, I’m still shocked I’m saying that). I’d go back for the mac. I’d go back when I’m in the mood for a real brunch vibe and I’m not rushing anywhere after.
